About the "Mini-Cons"

Since the middle of 2006 members of the NTFA have organized small-scale meetings, "Mini-Cons", throughout the Nordic countries.

The name is a play on the new Transformers race introduced in Transformers: Armada, coupled with the fact that our get-togethers still have a long way to go before they can compare in attendance size and scale of activities with the larger, well-established Transformers conventions in other countries. The name wasn't actually coined until shortly after the second get-together, in Turku, but it quickly stuck and is now used retroactively for the first two get-togethers as well.

In autumn 2007, administrator BigPete and rest of the NTFA staff decided it was time to raise the bar and organize a proper convention, in Arlöv, Sweden, the first of what will hopefully become a series of recurrent conventions.

List of Nordic Mini-Cons:

  • Helsinki, Finland - July 2, 2006 (short review)
  • Turku, Finland - August 13, 2006
  • Sandnes, Norway - November 11, 2006
  • Knivsta, Sweden - April 14, 2007
  • Vieremä, Finland - June 9, 2007
  • Arlöv, Sweden - November 3-4, 2007
