The Finnish Transformers comic books

1989

In year 1989 six normal issues and three specials were published. In the normal run issues 42-43 were skipped for some reason, without explanation I'd like to add. Fortunately they were later published in issue 1/91.
US issues 15-16, 19-25 and 33-34 were published in specials. The events took place before issue 1/88 so we could at last see for example the "deaths" of Optimus Prime and Megatron.

These issues tell about the situation on Cybertron and how Blaster & co. appeared to Earth. Blaster gives us a little glimpse to these events in issue 2/88 on page 31. These issues also introduced characters we didn´t see in Finland: Decepticon commander Lord Straxus, theAutobot Scrounge, and neutralist scientist Spanner. The same thing happened with the Norwegian and Swedish versions, where the pages were cut for space reasons, so it's possible Semic were unable to recover the source material.
