Again, feel free to correct my mistakes with English if there are those. smile.gif

Revenge Of The Fallen (Nest Global Alliance) deluxe Brawn

Brawn is typical ROTF deluxe: complicated, badass-looking and it has backpack... Some say that it's too panelous, complicated and fragile, some say that it's just "ok" toy. Well, this is my opinion:

There are lot of similar type vehicle modes like this, but Brawn's car mode is very obvious homage for his G1 counterpart. There are gun on the roof and it's not removeable, which is kinda lame, but if you want, you can still turn it on the top of his head when Brawn is in the robot mode, but it looks a bit stupid... So although the gun works well in vehicle mode, it's hanging on in his backpack when Brawn is in robot mode. But this is VERY minor problem. It just bothers me that there's cool gun hanging on but it does nothing in robot mode. Very cool and solid vehicle mode!

Brawn's robot mode is very stylized and like vehicle mode, it's kinda homage for G1 Brawn. As you can see, he has wide backpack and gun hanging on, but it balances the feel of the toy: it has very "muscular" limbs, but torso is kinda slim, so backpack brings more mass for his robot mode. There are two pistols and with them Brawn looks like a bounty hunter or something. His joints, especially the ball joint that connect his leg into his torso, are very loose when compared to other figures and leg may pop-off, but if you handle him with care he is very good figure for animation use too.

Brawn's vehicle mode is a bit similar to Ironhide's vehicle mode and if you have/if you're gonna buy the new deluxe Ironhide (or/and Ratchet too), Brawn is perfectly in scale with him/them. Both (Ironhide & Brawn) look very badass in both modes. But scalewise, if we forgot Ironhide and Ratchet, he isn't in scale with any other deluxe or voyagers cars but deluxe Ironhide and Ratchet. And with them, he looks great I think. And if you don't mid about the scale, this is cheap and good addition to your collection. If you're not a big fan of complexity and style of the movie robots, this may be a piece of crap for you.

+Fairly complex transformation: Looks very complicated, but it's FUN to transform though you have to be carefull, Brawn isn't gonna broke when you took him out from the box, but he isn't "rock" ;)
+Very good and solid vehicle mode
+Poseable robot mode that looks very badass
+Paintjob, I really like it.
-Loose joints
-Feels a bit fragile in robot mode
-Backpack. I think that new convertible Sideswipe will be the first movie toy (when it comes out..) which is car and don't have notablebackpack... just because there's no roof.

4/5

If you like movie toys or you're Brawn fan, highly recommend. Otherwise, think twice before picking him up.

Excellent review, once again! thumbs.gif

I'm a big fan of this toy, though - if it was me, I'd give Brawn 5/5. tongue.gif I don't mind the backpack (yes, it's a bit big, but then again, most TF toys have a little or more backpack, so it is quite standard for me), and I loooove the 2 small handguns that he has! Beautiful car mode and excellent colors all around. Highly recommended by me! smile.gif

Great review! thumbs.gif

Brawn was one of the more pleasant surprises for me from the N.E.S.T subline. Much like Martin, I don't mind the backpack that much, but I do think the hood hanging of his legs can get a bit annoying.

Oh, and two tips: If you rotate the hood pieces around in robot mode, they wrap around his thighs very nicely and looks more like armour. It's a tight joint, but the gun on his back can come up and rotate to either side, so it becomes a shoulder mounted canon, which is one of my favourite features about the toy! biggrin.gif

^Thanks for the tips ;)

...just noticed that the shoulder mounted canon is mentioned in the instructions. laugh.gif Maybe I should look them with more attention forward....
