We've previously encountered that the message system doesn't always notify you when there's a new message waiting. Today, I had four new messages with a couple several days old, that I never got any notification about. I just checked my inbox by chance and saw the messages there.

Hmf. Didn't you get e-mail notifications either, or do you have that functionality turned off?

There isn't much I can do about the message system, unfortunately. I'm guessing that perhaps this is another failure related to the most recent browsers and the slight changes in the DOM structure (DOM=Document Object Model=the internal structure of an interpreted HTML document) and the JavaScript engines, but I know too little about either to be able to solve the problem, if this is the case.

It should go away when I upgrade the board though. I know that I have promised an upgrade for years now, an upgrade that hasn't happened since I haven't had the time or energy in a very long time, but I decided earlier today that I will effectuate that upgrade this summer. I'm only waiting for version 3.1 of the IP.Board to be released. That version has enough new features to make it worth to make the effort, especially since there is also a new, commercial add-on related to 3.1 that I have been waiting for for ages and that I know will do the NTFA heaps of good. So this summer. New version.

oh so there is some glitch in the system.. at times, i have been worrying my sanity with this issue

sometimes, i have got note in my email for about new message, but sometimes, it have got that note about 12hours later than when i have received the message to pm box.
if i have been in the forum, while i have got new pm, i will never get note about that one in my e-mail.
sometimes, when i have singed out of forum.. let's say.. 20pm and next day, when i sing in, i get note at i have new pm and i have got it at 19:30pm at previous day (but where the heck it was lurking when i did check my pm box at 19:55pm )

i have not been messing up with the settings, at least i don't remember at that have happened

i do look my pm box just in case every time, when i sing out for the day, so it have not pothered me much and i have blamed tress full day, if there has been something suspicious with the e-mail and pm notes and boxes..
