Have you ever had a feeling that you've lost the right spirit in your hobby?
I just realized, that though I'm hanging around here in the forums, spending imbecilic sums of money to comics and figures and searching info about Transformers from the internet, I really haven't really and rightfully enjoyed my hobby for a good while. I'm just "doing" it.
So, I decided, that since tomorrow is going to be my day off from work (rare stuff), I'm going to have a real Transformers day, enjoying the stuff I've acquired lately. First I'm going to play once through the Transformers PS2. Then I'm spending some quality time with my latest acquisitions. After that I'm making a pot full of coffee and read all the comics that arrived today and some that I've been saving (for example some UK issues I received via Osku eons ago). Then I'm making more coffee and watch some episodes. And finally, I'll tidy up my Mini-Con shelf, which I've also savoured for a nice occasion. This is going to be one beautiful day in history...

-- and very recommendable! I sometimes rearrange my display shelf just for the fun of it. Or dig out an old boxed toy just for fiddling with it a bit.

Or "just" rearrange my whole inventory! tongue.gif

Näh! Grab your comics and head straight to the nearest terrace. Enjoy few beers in the sunlight reading your comics and watching the human flow.

I have a few more days off next week before I start at my new position as "enhetschef". I really need to make more room for my TF's. I'm thinking about bying some cheap shelves from IKEA (199 SEK each) and putting them together. If I buy three, they should be able to hold about half my collection.... yikes...

Whenever I feel fed up with transformers, I watch an episode or three of Beast Wars. That always reminds me just how great it is. In the rare case that it doesn't help, I open one of the year's new figures and study it closely, comparing it to figures from the previous year and looking for unusual features. I always get a kick out of rearranging the collection too.

Oh yeah, it was. This has been a really relaxing day off.

Martin, Frank: you're both right. And although I'm not ever really "fed up" with TFs in a meaning of a word, there comes times when it's truly good to just sit back and just check out what it all really is. smile.gif

Now that you mention it, it somehow feels like I too am just hanging in there from time to time. Not that I don't enjoy my collection anymore, but work commitments etc. severely limits the amount of time I get to spend on Transformers. I'm going to buy a number of Billy shelves this Summer and place these in my spare bed room. Now the spare bed room is just storage for my Transformers that are still boxed/carded. Even toys that I bought a whole year ago are still waiting to be unpacked for display purposes. Sometimes I think it's like I've fallen into this state of apathy, and it won't get better until I've freed up all the wasted space. However, one of the more disturbing side effects of this "apathy" is that I feel no urge to buy new Transformers at the moment and my current state of mind (and wallet) fully supports this attitude. But, come Summer and I'll probably manage to shake this feeling.
