Have any of you experience with using custom voice chips for kitbashes, or reprogramming a chip already in the toy? I'd like to know more! wink2.gif

Nope, but I've gutted a few toys with chips in them a few times (hehe.... evillaugh.gif), and they always seem to have been "copy-protected" by using both some ceramic material to conceal and seal the chips inside (at least on the newer toys) while also using custom chips made especially with the audio hard-wired into them.

I doubt that there is any way "inside" of those things. My best bet in getting your own audio in there is by reverse-engineering the chips inside, locating the sound data and replacing that with your own, burn that onto a custom IC and get that attached to the hardware again.

I think the best and easiest way to do anything with a soundchip is to replace the whole device with one from another toy. smile.gif I haven't seen anyone experimenting with this at all, but I wouldn't be surprised if someone had, though.

Well, if you can remove the chip from the ceramic seal and such, AND if it's the right type of chip, you should be able to reprogram it if you can flash it. Or maybe, it's possible to just replace the chip containing the sound clips with a custom one. I really need to investigate this further wink2.gif

well currently i'm working on some kitbashes that i will include a voice chip inside

i searches and asked and there is no way to manufacture one (unless u want to print them in 1000 and more copies)
but my solution was to obtain a recorder toy(there r planty of them around ) and just used that one
most of those toys has a record button ,once u record the phrase u want to use ,u can remove the record button and just use the replay one .

on the ebay u can find plenty of recording " memo credit cards" ,and recording flowers
for example

check your local toy store

p.s
there r even voice recording greeting cards -which r amazing cause they r really slim
