Steamquake

Left combiner limb.

Bio: Steamquake is very old, and very evil. Has been fighting for the Decepticons for as long as anyone can remember, and probably for even longer, and he has the scars to prove it. Refusing to adapt an Earth alt-mode, he still uses his old Cybertron form, a construction vehicle with two independent shovels. Even though having lost his memory in the crash, his sinister and evil personality still shows through.

For this guy I did a headswap, kept the original yellow colour (as IMO construction vehicles are mostly yellow wink2.gif), filled in all the mold details, added LOTS of wear and tear: A lot of drybrushing to add grit, dirt, and filth, and using silver on all primary lines on the shovels to make them look like they were worn and had paintwear; not too sure about the result though... Also attempted battle damage for the first time to emphazise that this guy has seen and experienced a lot during his lifetime. This I did by warming up a bobby pin (hair needle) and basically melting it into the plastic, and then filling it in with black paint. I was thinking of trying to add cracks and stuff too, but that might be a task for a future project instead. After i had finished painting, I deliberately scraped paint off here and there to add even more wear. Also got some excess paint I forgot to remove before I took the pics, so you'll just have to live with it tongue.gif

I'm not trying to accomplish anything special by making this custom combiner, really. I'm just practicing and learning stuff for future projects, so I'm not sure how this project will turn out when it's done...
