Also Logitech Wingman 3D (Force Feedback?)... no no you gotta go with Saitek X-36/45/52 at least biggrin.gif then it's REAL HOTAS biggrin.gif

I had Logitech Wingman 3D FF once, but got tired of FF and then got Guillemot/Hercules TopGun II, but atfer 2½years of good use it became defective, now I have X-45 alive and kicking 2years old biggrin.gif

Yes, it's force feedback. Actually I've been hoping to get Saitek's yoke and throttle quadrant plus pedals.

I've never understood why people want side windows in their PC cases. IMO it only makes the case look uglier. But otherwise, a very nice-looking PC. Can we have some specs?

Modding is big business now, so side windows are pretty much a way to show off the hardware at for example LAN parties. Some cases may look garish and naff, but a certain window design combined with the right fluorescent (moody) lighting inside the case might make it look beautiful, stunning, sexy (sort of) tongue.gif . Here is a (phwoaarr) titanium and black number from Zalman:

If I had to place my computer on my desk instead of under it I think I might put some effort into styling it too, although as long as I have to do with a budget computer I would limit it to a "sexy" case, without side windows. Side windows are more for those who actually have imposing and/or colourful components to show off, and not just the regular dark green circuit boards and blocky grey heat sinks.
I have seen pictures of motherboards equipped with LEDs that signal that everything is okay, lit up fans made of translucent blue, green or red plastic, and water cooling systems that shine in blue. That's the kind of stuff you're supposed to show off with a side window.
Realistically speaking side windows must come with a huge drawback though. You never see it in the pretty pictures, but if you don't vacuum and dust the inside of the case often it must soon become a quite sorry sight ...

(I used the vacuum to clean up my computer while I installed the new memory chips this last Monday. And I can tell you that it was needed; I almost got an asthmatic attack when I first tried to blow away some of the dust. And the case temperature actually dropped a little bit after the cleanup; obviously the dust prevented the fans from cooling the case at peak efficiency.)

Dust isn't much of a problem with modded cases. just remember to make a bit overpressure in the case and then most dust will be blown out... I had this for years and my PC's were far from filled with dust. smile.gif

As if my brothers PC wasn't fast enough we installed yet more power and tweaked it even further.

Now the PC is running with two GeForce 9600GT 512MB cards in SLi. The Sparkle card was overclocked a tiny bit to match the speeds of the Zotac card.

CPU and GFX are overclocked with MSI Dual Core Center, since for the CPU the motherboard BIOS is crappy with no OC options (not even HTT multiplier) with an AMD 64 X2 5000+ Black Edition installed - for every other CPU multiplier is enabled to adjust hmmm.gif . The CPU is overclocked from 2600MHz to 3000MHz.

Now the little case is almost filled with hardware wub.gif biggrin.gif

A few benchmark results.

Here's my latest project. Amiga 600 with 2.05 ROM and 2.05 Workbench. I'm planning to install a 1 GB CF card via an IDE adapter as HD, upgrade the ROM to 3.1 and install AmigaOS 3.1 on the HD.

Little update on my A600 project. I opened the case up and installed the 3.1 Kickstart ROM and 1 GB CF card using the adapter. I need to modify the upper RF shield so that it fits in while the CF card and the adapter are in place.

Nice! So you actually have a mini-sized SSD hard drive. This should make hard drive operations much quicker, and most of all (because of the lack of moving parts) completely silent.

That's right. I actually have a CF card as hard drive in my A1200, too. It is indeed silent. Only the floppy is clicking. I used to have a normal 2,5" hdd in the A1200 but the bearings were so worn out that it was keeping a very annoying noise.

I would have done a similar thing myself but CF cards don't come in big enough sizes. My A4000 has a 20 GB hard drive, and the biggest CF cards I know of are 8 GB (and very expensive).

With my A1200, I actually downsized from 3,1 GB to 1 GB. There is still free space in System, Work and Games partitions. My system partition is 200 MB and I could install AmigaOS 3.9 on that with free space to spare. Talk about doing the same with WinXP! tongue.gif

Yeah. I just thought that these HD sizes must sound really small to the "younger" people who weren't there in the old Amiga days. Back then you didn't even need hard drives, it was only in the last few years that I upgraded to a 170 MB HD (170 MB? Who could ever fill up that much space? This will last a lifetime). Before that I ran the operating system on a single 720 kB floppy disk - even AmigaOS 3.0, which people said couldn't run on less than two floppys. I did have a second disk drive, but I used that for my programs and data files.

By the way: "why are you only showing us the keyboard and not the whole computer?" wink2.gif
