If you mean what brand, I've always been fond of Games Workshop's paints from back in the day when I played Warhammer 40k smile.gif But maybe Fighbird has some better tips? After all, he's the kitbash master of NTFA ;)

Hey, come on... just because I (maybe?) was the first around here, it doesn't make me a "master"...   tongue.gif  But thanks for the kind praise yet again. blush2.gif

Well, basically, it all depends on what you prefer: I have no experience with other types of paint than enamel ones (oil-based). If I were you, I might buy one of each -- acrylic, enamel and Games Workshop (if it's different than enamel?) -- and try it out on some spare parts or something.

I've used acrylic paints and they were just pain in the ass. Haven't used those at all after I changed to Citadel's (Games Workshop) water thinned paints.

And naturally you have to always remember to use basecoat (is that a right word?). So spray paint your figure with something close to the main color in your figure. You know, light colors -> use white spray paint, dark colors -> use black spray and so on.

Also, 2-3 thin coats of colour can often be better than one thick one. Citadel's colours are good.
When it comes to brushes avoid synthetics, like nylon. the tips tend to curl up a bit. Brushes made of marten (mård in swedish) is good.
