Our rings came today, and they fit perfectly. I'm so relieved.

Stormbreaker, actually. Stormbringer is the next Transformers series from IDW Publishing, and it hasn't been collected in a trade paperback yet. wink2.gif

Oops, you're right. My bad. Actually, I have pre-ordered that TPB too so I guess that made me mix those... crazy2.gif

I red the Phoenix Endsong yesterday and liked it very much. I hope this is the end for Jean Grey at last even if I really like the character. Spoiler: the tale of Phoenix isn't ending though...

yesterday, I got an issue of Norway's first news magazine: Ny Tid. I was completely blown away by the quality of the content. I feel like I've learned more about the world from reading one (light reading) issue than watching a year of news coverage on tv. Everything is top class. Film reviews, for instance, only talk about new films that you may not be aware of that you should see - like an oscar-nominated documentary just released on dvd or the dvd release of Buster Keaton's "the General". The last page of the magazine was the best part - their "TV Program". They only list about five programs combined from all channels for each day, with a mini-review. Again, mostly talking about programs you might miss but are probably good. This was by far the best magazine I've ever read. They even have a regular Russian columnist commenting on national and international politics from a Russian opposition viewpoint smile.gif The best article in the magazine discussed the quite valid theory (scientifically based, unlike Dan Brown's) developed by muslim and hindu scientists that Jesus survived the crucifixion, stayed with his followers for 40 days and then fled to India to escape the Roman Empire. They're guarding his grave to this day!

I cannot recommend this strongly enough. Every article is a must-read, and has little or no flavour of sensationalism. I think it is available at larger vendors even in Sweden and Denmark, and subscriptions are available from www.nydid.no.

I got that HPGOF DVD about a week ago. The book I think I don't have.. wait, no... I got it in English by getting it via IaconHub.

But... Elf Quest...? I don't think I recognize it.

You, our self-admitted dragon/elf/magic fanatic and guru, don't recognise Elf Quest? It's an overly romantic and adventurous high fantasy comic written and drawn by Wendy and Richard Pini. I read some Finnish translations of it a bit over a decade ago and thought it was fairly OK. Nowadays I don't really care about it any more.

I've read about a dozen TPBs of it. At best it rocks, really primitive  stuff, and at worst it sucks, really fluffy stuff, too. tongue.gif

You can't find those in Klaukkala at all, you know. And it's over a decade old, so I guess I just haven't heard about 'em. Plus I don't much care about elves. Dragons are much better. Of course some elves are cool (like the Shadow Elves from Forgotten Realms, and Kelsey from Spearwielder). Btw, when I was in Varkaus, I found some really interesting English comics in the library. They were based on nothing else than the infamous "Dragon Riders of Pern". They were wonderful.

I tried to read the Finnish 'comic' called 'Vanha koira' (Old Dog), but had to drop it. It was *yeeeaaawwning*! <^O^> zzzzzzzzzz

Btw, I have these English books right now:

And
http://www.galactium.com/books_WhiteWolf.jpg
(Not bad, huh? And I've read all of them except White Wolf)

If you want some good reading, read the first chapter of "The Hidden City", here: http://hem.passagen.se/fredricp/Eddings/bo...idden_city.html
"Pawn of Prophecy": http://hem.passagen.se/fredricp/Eddings/bo.../belgariad.html
"Belgarath - The Sorcerer": http://hem.passagen.se/fredricp/Eddings/bo.../belgarath.html
"Polgara - The Sorceress": http://hem.passagen.se/fredricp/Eddings/bo...es/polgara.html
And "The Rivan Codex": http://hem.passagen.se/fredricp/Eddings/bo...rivancodex.html

Uh.. sorry for putting those into this thread... dang, when I get excited.. blush2.gif

I've read (and actually have) a lot of them too, and must agree that the story isn't always thrilling. But I love the drawings. Especially the ones of Winowill (I think her name is..).
