Some suggestions for more farming vehicles:

mini-van, pickup truck, another tractor (with different tools connected to it, without canopy, etc).

Yeah, I've considered the pickup truck myself - I'll probably end up doing it. Good idea with the different tractor, lots of possibilities (and it would also be kind of cool to have two bulky tractors forming the legs of the upcoming gestalt)!

I've also considered doing a lawnmower, you know, one of the bigger and meaner types. It would have some interesting options when it comes to weapons ...

Yeah, imagine a heavy tractor with a loader in the front and a scoop in the back, or a weedwhacker, a pneumatic drill, etc. The choices are limitless smile.gif

UPDATE: Just added the third one for the combiner team. It's pretty difficult to find agricultural alt. modes that are not based on tractors, and that's the reason for the helicopter. I want to keep the diversity.
That's one reason why I suggested agricultural and forest machinery. It gives at least a few more choices. smile.gif
When I was 6-7 years old my family sometimes visited another family which was both farmers and forest-workers. The father in the family was trained to operate a wide range of machinery, and I think it was during late autumn and winter when they had a little less to do on the farm that he cut down trees in the surrounding forest and de-branched them with a large machine. So at least to me agricultural and silvicultural activities can be related. smile.gif

Good idea with the helicopter. I assume, from the name, that he's supposed to be a crop-duster/fertilizer aircraft?

Good point. And again - very interesting weapon possibilities. And after I read your post I did consider various de-branchers and evil looking cutters, but in the end I decided to try and keep it to agricultural machinery. Let's see what happens when I get around to the last two ...

Yeah, Airspray is an air based duster/fertilizer (I'm thinking deadly poison in this case sly.gif ). I know that they're not typical in our parts of the world, but I guess they're pretty handy on some of the huge fields in the US.

Fantastic work! This is indeed what "robots in disguise" should be.

Looking at Shattered Glass Fieldtrip, I can so imagine the terror of him transforming with a bussload (pun intended) of people inside tongue.gif

Yes, Sandstorm is actually based on a real vehicle; the so called ULTRA AP. It's a really mean looking son of a ***** if you ask me, and I knew instantly when I saw it the first time that it had to be converted to a Decepticon!

I totally agree on the point that he should be a Decepticon. Also on the point that its a mean looking machine. I usually recognize most military machines but not this one. Thanks for the info.

Needlenose,

These are excellent! They simultaneously give me hope and a sense of futility toward one day creating full body and vehicular designs for a combiner team I came up with years ago called the Arctibots. The most impressive challenge is without a doubt working out how the character convincingly could be seen to transform between the two modes, and I think you really succeeded in doing so. smile.gif
