Yup, I haven't smoked for six days now!

I'm proud of myself so far, having gone from 20 cigarettes per day to zero!

BUT, I'm also dealing with heavy withdrawal... I feel depressed, get anxiety attacks, I have no appetite, I'm constantly tired, etc. I know giving up smoking will be worth it in the end so I'm determined to make it. It's just really hard to feel positive when you feel like it's the end of the world.

I'm going to see a doctor tomorrow for a check-up and to see if there's anything that will help me get rid of the depression and anxiety attacks. Those are the hardest for me to handle; all the dark thoughts, thinking about dying, and horrible things like that. Yuck.

Wish me luck!

Great news, man! I'm keeping my both thumbs up for you! thumbs.gif Talk with your doctor. I'm sure he has better solutions that just plain nicotine gum or patches to cope with withdrawal symptoms.

Good luck, Pete!
I've witnessed a lot of people giving up smoking, so I can sort of understand how hard it is. But I have faith in you. You can do it! smile.gif

I've never smoked in my whole life, but I know how hard it can be to stop doing something.

I had an accident nearly a year ago where I had an infection in my throat, and it got so serious that I eventually fainted and had to stay at the hospital (my very first stay at a hospital) for 2 nights.
After that incident, I've developed OCD symptoms, so I have all these crazy things I just must do, without even thinking about doing them by will.

I starting a treatment for my problems this week, so I hope to be rid of it soon.

So I know what you're going through, pal. And I hope it goes well for you too.

I've partly recovered from OCD over 3 years.
Thanks to that I have plenty of experience on how to fight back the disorder and have guided a small number of people.
If you wanna talk about it Alpha, feel free to pm me smile.gif
I know just how much it hurts one.

Thanks, pal. But I don't think my problems will take as long to get over.

But if I come up with some good questions, I'll pm you. thumbs.gif

I've never been a smoker myself, so I haven't got the slightest clue about how it is to fight withdrawal symptoms etc. after quitting, but you hang in there and you'll come out of it a better man. Stay positive and think about the potential health issues/risks you are giving a swift kick "in the rear". Also, giving up smoking has the benefit of freeing up funds to do other things, like buying "stuff" (nudge, nudge) or taking the missus out for a proper dinner smile.gif . Or something completely different that comes to mind. All I can say is, never regret, never surrender and don't look back thumbs.gif .

The depression is starting to go away and my appetite is slowly returning. Now, if only the freakin' anxiety attacks would go away as well, everything would be peachy!

Thanks for your support guys smile.gif
