So uhh.... when shall we hear from AA:Europe 2012? Other than it's location. wink2.gif

When we have more to say about it. smile.gif

Actually, BigPete, who's currently set to be the main organizer of AAEurope 2012, has experienced some turbulent time recently, and has changed jobs. And until he's fully settled in at the new job, the plans for the convention has had to take a backseat.

Any news about the post-convention magazine? It's been so quiet about it.

Jolt - "Uhh, shouldn't we be saying something really dramatic right about now?"
Longarm - "Shut up, Jolt!"
Jolt - "That wasn't what I had in mind."

Well, the only news is that there is no news - just as you have noticed nothing much has happened. And I have to take the blame for its absence.
First I was ailing for several months after the respiratory infection that I was suffering from during AAEurope. And just as I finally started feeling that I was regaining my strength again, then I broke my left hand... That was in mid-March; I had the bandage/plaster and the nails/pins removed last Monday, and am currently working hard on trying to regain the flexibility and strength in the fingers, which are now crooked and weak. So quite obviously my attention has been on completely different things. smile.gif

But we should aim to get working on a magazine soon, although it will be in a slightly different format and with a different focus than originally intended - it will sound a bit silly to call it a "post-convention magazine" now, so we will do something else with it - an "in-between conventions magazine" or something like that, but obviously with a much better name. smile.gif

I have actually been thinking about it for the last two days or so... Something has arised that gives me and the rest of the AAE committee good reason to start focusing on it again. But more about that later (we have an update coming up very soon).

And now I can go into closer detail:
As you can see in the news section, the AAE committee has come to the conclusion that regrettably we will have to delay the next convention until autumn 2013. The reason is that we have all been tied up with various other problems since the last convention. So much that we haven't been able to put as much effort into the convention as we would have preferred and needed. So instead of trying to pull off a convention that will probably only be so-so (at best), we think its better to take a gap year and shift our focus towards 2013 instead.

This is why the convention magazine has been given higher priority. So that you won't be left completely bereft of AAE goodness this year, we intend to renew our efforts to put the magazine together and publish it in a not too distant future! There may even be space for multiple magazines before AAE 2013 takes place, if people only help out with materials for it. smile.gif
