Okay, so I was inspired to make a little review of these three guys. With these, I'm caught up on this series. I'm missing a few variations and along the way I've managed to destroy/repaint all the noname guys (Swerve, Decepticharge, Rollbar and Ricochet) but there's really nothing Binaltech or Alternator I need now.



Right, on to the reviews. I got these from a Chinese seller and shipping took ages. I was starting a claim when they finally showed up. As usual from Hong Kong, they were perfectly wrapped and packaged and in perfect condition. Just one weird thing. Skids' box is different from all my other Binaltech. It's white and has slightly different layout, but still has all the trademarks and names on it. Could this be a high quality KO or was the last "normal" Binaltech actually different from the rest?



I already had Alternator Skids, which I got a few years back when I was unemployed. At that point I couldn't defend actually getting the more expensive version. But they are actually very different figures. There are loads of paint app differences. Of course BT Skids is missing the flames and window decos, and instead is a clean sparkly blue (where Alt Skids is a dull purpleish blue). But there are also loads of small apps all over him that are different. The only thing that annoys me is the silver chin which makes him look like Jay Leno, unlike the Alt which has a helmet ridge there.



I can't get enough of blue Binaltechs! If BT Prowl wasn't that stupidly expensive (and a pretty crappy figure) I'd get that too. So, so lovely.




Right, on to Arcee (and that sounded weird). She's a straight repaint of Decepticharge, which obviously is a little funny. Still, the S2000 is a fine looking car and being mostly pearl white, it matches BT Meister. The pink seats aren't too distracting and it's generally one of the better-looking car modes in this series, with few noticable seams.



Okay, that's not a girl. IT'S A MAN, BABY! I'm kind of considering turning her into Minerva, which would work slightly better, but then again I've never customized Binaltechs. With some hard work she could make a decent Minerva, but it would need more posability in the feet (for a high-heeled look), modified shoulder joints (to make the car parts swing back and up), a reworking of the waist to remove the spoiler and obviously a new head.



Moving on, we've got Rodimus, or Hot Rod as anyone normal calls him. The Ford GT is a really cool mold, but it's not at its best in red and orange. Overall though, I prefer him to the Kiss Player version, even if the flames are less realistic. It's funny that he got really easy to find after being a SDCC exclusive. Bless the Southeast Asian sellers for this one!

The original BT-16 Skids' box follows the same layout as the other BT toys, so it is very likely that you have a knock-off.

That box is just like the TFKenkon box, but as you can see it's way different from the others, both before and after.

Curious. Granted, I've not been keeping myself updated about BT for a looooong time, but the box definitely looks authentic (and no where close to the real bootleg BT boxes I've seen). Still, strange that they changed that... wasn't he one of the last releases before they switched to the vertical BTA boxes? Could be a "transitional" design thing...

Looks like a 1st wave box to me. There were minor difference as far as I remember seeing of tfw2005 long ago.
