If you were in doubt up until the last minute despite having planned to buy for a long time and even getting the necessary approval from the missus, it sounds like an acquisition that you would regret a bit further down the line. While having second thoughts is perfectly normal, it's imperative to get the priorities straight in good time when planning an expensive buy. If you are not fully committed, it could put a damper on your enjoyment and fascination of Fort Max, in my opinion.

Well, maybe not doubt but hoping that I had been able to save up front more than I eventually did. In the end it was a question of which I would've regretted more, getting Max or passing it after all these years.

Also got my payment request, but had to cancel the order. The funds I had saved for Fort Max were needed else where...
really sad day... always wanted Maxie but now he slipped away for the 2nd time he was around.

But, if you still have the original G1 (albeit not a sealed specimen), can't you enjoy that one wink2.gif ? I certainly am. The only thing missing is the sword and since that was a Japanese-only Fort Max accessory anyway, there's not much to see for existing Fort Max owners. Plus you don't need to fear any potential QC issues.

That is correct. And frankly now where the Encore version is sold out at HLJ, I don't feel that bad about it, because like you said I have the good old GeeWunner still smile.gif

I thought I remembered that you had the original G1. I'd probably choose the original over the re-issue any day, if I had the possibility.

I got an SMS from my wife. She had signed a parcel from Japan... w00t.gif

I'm not really into newer TF's, but when I saw this I knew I need to have it! love.gif G2 Sideswipe was one of the toys I have a lot of fond memories from my childhood. I just hope that they'll change the color scheme a little pit, adding more red to make it look more like the original.

I noticed several sites stating there will be a second production run of MP-13 Soundwave coming in September. Hopefully they will have sorted the problem with the low-quality chrome paint application.

I'm glad they opted to redo the weapons a bit. Those G2 weapons always were a bit exaggerated to the point of looking, well, silly. MP G2 Sideswipe's looks quite acceptable. But while the black Sideswipe repaint is nice, I have to say I'm a fan of the yellow "Tiger Track" version, which is a Tokyo Toy Show 2013 exclusive. I've never looked much at the original Tiger Track, but this new yellow MP release really got my attention. Lambos may look mighty fine in red, but I've also loved them in yellow and orange/tangerine. So getting this was a ("nuuuuurgh...") no-brainer tongue.gif .
