Just watched a couple of episodes of Red vs. Blue and thought that it might be fun to create machinima videos using one of the TF Games. Didn't at least the last one support multiplayer mode? Of course this requires a lot of work, including scripts and having enough players to play the characters and others to do the voice-overs.

What do you guys think?

The Rotf game has a pretty good multiplayer mode. The problem would probably be to get rid of the HUD and getting the camera angles right, especially for battles, since the view is always reset to behind your character whenever you fire your weapons.

Red vs Blue has the advantage of running on the Halo engine, which as of Halo 3 has been optimised for making Machinima. Same goes for the Source engine, which is easily modified and has built in recording capabilities and it even allows people to add their own character animations.

If someone finds a way to do this with the Rotf game I'd be vary curious to see what they can come up with though smile.gif Could bring some PROPER comedy to the movie-verse wink2.gif

Freshening up the old topic. Those of you who have played War for Cybertron. How do you think it would fare from the point of making machinima?
