Way too early for anyone to make any guesses. Not even the scriptwriters may be sure of Megatron's fate at this time.

Personally I would prefer that he continues as Megatron though. He has switched between the two identities so many times in recent years that it has become a joke (especially since there's never any visible difference apart from the change of colours), and I hope that they aim to restore whatever prestige the name "Megatron" originally carried, by letting him keep the name throughout the film series. "Galvatron" should be dropped and forgotten forever, in my opinion.

Voyager Ratchet and Starscream will also be released in G1 colors -- G1 color movie Jazz looks pretty sweet, actually -- but I'm betting that this is post-movie fanwank for the G1'ers. I don't think any of the 'bots will ever get exact G1 colors for any movie; the car makers (who sponsor the movie(s)) wouldn't allow it either, I'm betting...

I doubt so because they will be exclusive because they are coming as pre-orders at play.com.

I love Galvatron. He always scares me because of his psychotic behavior (in G.1) biggrin.gif

Rumor has it that they are planning to make Soundwave for real in the sequel. Guess that would mean that we can expect to see even more annoying little guys like Frenzy tongue.gif

My guess for the second movie would be some more autobots joining on earth, Barricade trying to find and reactivate Megatron! Not Galvatron! And Starscream returning with a new look and some new soldiers to crust the bots and humans

I totally agree, except that I think that Galvatron is way too cool character to be just ditched off. Outside movies, if I've understood right, IDW is making him to be a totally different being than Megs, and I think that's an excellent way of renewing and updating the Con. Since I like them both (Megs a lot more, though), I'd also like to have them both existing. smile.gif

Honestly I think we'll see Megatron in the next movie and not Galvatron. Megatron had very little "air-time" in the movie and people didn't get to know the true nature of his character nor powers yet. Perhaps Galvatron will show up near the end of TransFormers 3 biggrin.gif that's my bet.

Have Dreamworks and Paramount really green-lit a sequel yet? The movie cost about $150 million to make; do we know how far away the movie is from breaking even? If the movie falls short of the mark, it could be a one-off. I sure hope not, though.

PS! Oh wait, just found one. If this is right, Transformers has already made $180 million (by July 11th) in the US and $97 million in the rest of the world, totalling $277 million. If these numbers are right... WOW!

Yes, those figures are correct, making TF a box-office hit. It will draw in more cash, and then when it hits the DVD-market, it'll gross even more. It wouldn't surpruse me if the movie hits the $400 million mark.

EDIT: The only movie in the sci-fi/action genre that has made more money than Tranformers so far, is Terminator 2: Judgement Day. However, I'm guessing it will be beaten very soon, since it's total worldwide sales came to $204,843,345, making Transformers the top grossing sci-fi/action flick of all time!
